To tell the truth, public speaking class has helped me a lot, although I have just taken about six classes. I remember that I used to be really nervous to speak in public. When I spoke in front of people, my face got red and my voice trembled. The pace of my speaking got faster and faster, and my arms waved around without being controlled. Because of this, I hardly ever answered questions in my previous classes although I knew the correct answers most of the time.
In order to deal with this situation, I chose public speaking which surprised me a lot. In the first class, I was really shy, and hardly participate the conversation and discussion. Even when I participate, I pretended that I was not interested in those activities to cover my embarrasses. Fortunately, my teacher encouraged me a lot. She always smiled and led me to say things in a correct way. Besides, all the classmates were very friendly, they never laughed at me when I made mistakes. With their help, my speaking English improved a lot and I got braver and braver to speak in front of people.
I believe that after the half-year study with Mrs. Guarino, I will be able to speak in public aforesaidly. And I am sure that the things I learnt from Mrs. Guarino will be helpful in my whole further life.
Thank you! Mrs. Guarino!
